Released at the very end of 2020, in a season dominated by Christmas ads, Ambrosia’s (literal) flight of fantasy didn’t get much ad press coverage. But it scored very strongly with viewers, who loved the gentle vibe and the cheeky but likeable new character Ambrosia introduced – Moley Mole, an escapee from underground who takes a liking to strawberries and cream (well, Ambrosia).
We don’t know yet whether Moley will return to our screens to become a regular Fluent Device for the brand – but with a 5-Star initial outing, Ambrosia would be well advised to try. The brand has a rich heritage of popular recurring devices, like the “Go West” singing cows, and the tagline – which they still use – ‘Devon knows how they make it so creamy’.
