In the words of one of our senior clients recently…
“Market Research has changed more in the last 3 years than in the previous 40”

Who we are and why we exist

System1 is a The Creative Effectiveness Platform. Our target customers are the world’s largest advertisers. These businesses understand that creativity is the most powerful tool for growth within their control. System1 helps them make confident creative decisions that lead to transformational business results.

What we do

System1 predicts and improves marketing effectiveness. Our advertising and idea tests measure emotion to give our customers the most accurate predictions of the business impact of creativity. We ‘predict’ (provide research results) and ‘improve’ (provide insight and consultancy on those results) on arguably three of the most critical marketing questions for our customers: advertising effectiveness, innovation effectiveness and brand effectiveness. We aspire to do these three things better than anyone else at a value that makes System1 our customers’ choice.

Becoming part of our team

  • AIM Listed, and with 10 Global Offices and over 150 employees, System1 is a fast-changing business. With exceptional IP, technological advantage and a world-class team we are very well positioned for rapid growth. Central to this is our people. We need to hire the right people, into the right roles, at the right time.
  • Are you up for being a part of the Labs team to provide methodological and data quality support, run experiments, pilots and analysis on new approaches?
  • Are you excited by working with leading edge IP and products that can make a huge impact on our customers’ businesses?
  • Do you relish the role of being the disruptor in a category and rise to the challenge of stretching goals?

What will you be doing?

  • Your role will grow and change over time, and you will have input into these changes. Initial responsibilities include:
    • Analysing datasets to check and quantify their quality, stability and predictiveness. This will include respondent-level data for individual projects as well as larger scale and longitudinal monitoring.
    • Supporting queries on our predictive methods and data from our clients and client-facing teams.
    • Assisting with meta-analyses on the System1 databases, including validations as well as industry-leading experiments and pilots to understand how advertising and innovation work. These analyses will inform future products or features that can be commercialised.
    • Assisting with on-going System1 methods R&D, testing and norms database upgrades.
    • You will be in frequent contact with clients, Product, Delivery, Research & Guidance teams, assisting with queries and organisation of the Labs 1Hub Sharepoint materials.
    • You will need to present findings confidently and clearly to internal stakeholders and clients.
    • You will be educating colleagues on the differences between methodologies and how to interpret their results
    • You will be responsible for running projects to time and budget.

  • You are comfortable analysing data and confident at communicating its real-world implications to others (internally and to clients)
  • You are enthusiastic about (good!) advertising, brands, how they work and how they could be improved
  • You are curious, show initiative, love to analyse and solve problems
  • You show integrity with colleagues and clients, are organised with strong time management and high attention to detail
  • You enjoy collaboration and exposure to a wide variety of sectors, client challenges, publications, data types, new technologies and ways of thinking.
  • You are interested in AI – its opportunities and its (current) limitations

You need to have the following experience

  • You are engaged with System1’s methods and philosophy and should be familiar with (or ready to read) the major publications on advertising effectiveness and human decision-making.
  • You enjoy working across teams as well as being able to work well independently
  • You should be familiar with the core Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
  • Experience with more advanced statistical packages (e.g. R, SPSS), Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI) and regression would be helpful but not critical if you are happy to learn new skills independently, as required.
