A lot of the successful ads at Super Bowl LV have relied heavily on celebrities, and Pizza Hut is another brand to have gone down this route. The Hut’s commercial stars actor Craig Robinson of The Office and Hot Tub Time Machine, reminiscing over eating Pizza Hut back in his Pac-Man playing youth. He’s in a deserted Hut – a reminder of the difficulties chain restaurants have faced during the Covid-19 pandemic with indoor dining a hazardous pursuit. But his natural ebullience helps carry the ad along. The risk of using celebrities heavily is that the star can draw attention away from the brand, but Pizza Hut is very much the centre of this 4-Star ad, and it’s a reminder of the brand’s long heritage in American life.Back To All
