Santander Brand Tracking
It’s a time of flux for high street banks in the UK. New banks and former building societies, such as The Nationwide, are in the ascendency. Perhaps the most exceptional example is Santander. Only launched in the UK in 2010 (using the Abbey National high-street branch network), its innovative and cleverly framed 123 current account has encouraged more switching than any other bank and it now commands 10% market share – a threat to the established UK retail banks, such as HSBC.
