Dieselgate – a car crash in slow motion?

System1 Research have been running a long-term brand tracking study since early 2015. In mid-2015, the Volkswagen Group got embroiled in a scandal over manipulative software installed in diesel cars that tricks emissions tests. The public accusations also quickly engulfed a number of brands outside the Volkswagen group and are seen by many as a driving force to move the industry to new engine technologies. These are all aspects we have been looking into for the past three years and in the seventh wave of this study in March 2018.
